Magma PCI Expansion Alternative?

Hi, I bought a ATX Virtua Via PCi expansion chasis and a Express card for my Macbookpro.
I can tell you that the case now has enough space to insert completely the Protools HD cards, but I have found an important trouble with the express card, when I start the computer with the Digidesign HD core card inserted in the Virtua Via PCI slot, the ATX System turn off, If i do it without HD core all runs fine anthe OSX System see the PCI bridge, and another non digidesign card that i tryed, but with the HD card nothing. I hope to try it with a PCIe MacPro tomorrow (i bought it with two conectors, express card and PCIe).
Any help it´s wellcome.

But this is much more expensive and only for PCIe cards , we talk about PCIx to PCIe around 400€

Magma is the only thing that is approved
You tried something that is not blessed by Avid and it's not working go figure
Your pretty much on your own in the wilderness

Yes Magma is the only aproved but its price is excesive, and some people are running with Virtua Via, so why not to try it in the best way I can?

I had the exact same problem. Tried with a 6-core Westmere. All other non Digidesign cards worked fine but the HD card would turn off the atx.
So I gave up and sent the expansion box back.
So after 2 weeks of mixing only with RTAS I can say: so far I am not missing any TDM stuff. We will see.

I´m ivestigating in the numbers of the cards my VirtuaVia card has the next numbers printed in the mainboard:
19114 REV.C

And my OSX system recognizes it with these:
ID del fabricante: 0x104c
ID del dispositivo 0x8231
ID de la revisión: 0x0003
Anchura del enlace: x1
Velocidad de enlace: 2.5 GT/s


I have know a man that has running another kit without problems and his system tells him these numbers:
ID del fabricante: 0x8086
ID del dispositivo: 0xb154
ID de la revisión: 0x0000

Could you tell what are the numbers of your card , As we can see there is a diferent revision numbers and could be there the diference.

I don´t surrender Detlef Brockman, I think if anyones run I must to get it runs, is very important to get it, and I have talked with more people that works with that ok.
