Default PT won\'t launch, Digitest failed.

Can anyone help?

When I launch Pro Tools I get the message you get when your interfaces are off:-

"Please ensure PT h/ware is connected & turned on. Click OK when ready".

Next I run Digitest & both my d24 & DSP Farm fail giving the following messages:-

"d24:- TDM transmission test - Failed - No TDM clock detected (2 time(s)).

DSP Farm:- TDM transmission test - DSP A - Failed - No TDM clock detected (5 time(s)).
TDM transmission test - DSP B - Failed - No TDM clock detected; expected 4833 TDM interrupts, but got 0 in 167 no. of ticks.
TDM transmission test - DSP C - Failed - No TDM clock detected; expected 4833 TDM interrupts, but got 0 in 167 no. of ticks.
TDM transmission test - DSP D - Failed - No TDM clock detected; expected 4833 TDM interrupts, but got 0 in 167 no. of ticks."

Does anyone know what is wrong?

I am running a Dual 867MHz MDD G4 with the 'upside down' PCI configuration. My slot order is as follows:-

1: AGP
2: d24
3: DSP Farm
4: <empty>
5: ultra fast & wide SCSI

I have one 1622 connected to the d24 card.

The clock is provided by a MOTU MTP/AV but I have tried to run with the MOTU turned both on & off.

I am trying to run PT TDM 6.1 on OS 10.2.6.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Default Re: PT won\'t launch, Digitest failed.

Has it ever worked in the past, or are you just now transferring the cards to this CPU?

First indication would be to remove the TDM cable and remove the DSP farm and rerun the test, if the D24 passes, then the cable or farm is at fault. Or the card does not meet Digi comapability requirements. Check the serial numbers against Digidesigns FAQ

Secondly reinstall your cards in this order as a test:
1: AGP
2: <empty>
3: d24
4: DSP Farm
5: ultra fast & wide SCSI

If it passes, then you should check your AGP Video card, I had 2 867DPs that had
nVidia cards bottle up the PCI buss, yes I know its an AGP, but trust me!!!
I installed an ATI radeon video card and Digitest passed afterwards.

Have you ever had these cards in a G4? Your d24 card and farm may require upgrades to work properly in your Mac. A bad interface cable could also cause this, or a poorly seated TDM ribbon cable. The information about the DSP Farm can be found here http://www.digidesign.com/compato/osx/pt24/hw.cfm

The d24 is a little harder to identify as some have been upgraded some were shipped G4 compatible. you may want to contact you local Digidesign support office to see if your cards need to be updated.

Thanks,
