Default Problems Setting Up New Tracks

I have some tracks recorded (drums, keyboard, and some other audio tracks). However, when I bring in a new audio track, it is somehow playing drums when I hit my keyboard above middle c. I have tried every kind of way possible to change the input and output settings to avoid this, but obviously I don't know what I'm doing. Right now, I'm just trying to record sounds from keyboard in to a track. I'm not using any of the Pro Tools plug-ins, but I don't think that should matter. Please help!

Do you have a MIDI or USB cable running from your keyboard? If you are recording audio only, remove them or uncheck MIDI through.

Default Re: Problems Setting Up New Tracks

I have a midi in and out from my keyboard and visa versa from my mbox

I have left and right out of my keyboard into my mbox
then, a midi in and out from the keyboard into the mbox

Which would I need to disconnect? Do I only need this configuration if I'm recording a midi and audio track simultaneously?

THANK YOU!
