Default 4 Second delay after I press record and play, help!
Hi,

After I press record and play it takes 4 seconds to start recording. It should record right away right? I don't know how to fix it. I don't think I touched any of the settings. Any help will be great. Thanks!

Check your transport in the expanded view (with midi controls). There is a 2 bar count in that is probably highlighted. This baffled me once.

You need to post your system configuration for us to help you...
OS/PT Version/Hard Disks/etc...

You aren't trying to record to a USB drive are you?

one of our G5 HD system is having the same problem with the small delay after hitting the space bar. I check the midi "2bar" thing and no change. Could a in compatable version of QT be the couplorate?

dual 1.8 G5
2.5 gig of RAM
HD 1 accel
DV picture
PT 7.2cs2

Reduce the setting for Open Ended Record Allocation to 10 minutes.

Any record armed tracks? Are you in QuickPunch mode?

What's your DAE Buffer setting?
