Ext. drive "WD: My Book Pro Edition" compatibility error (?)

Hello,

I just purchased My Book Pro 250GB ext.drive from Western Digital but as I tried to use it as audio record volume by using FireWire 800 port I as I tried to create new session to ext.disk I got the error message: "the volume is not audio record volume". I'm confused. Digidesign have informed that Pro Tools will support FireWire drives in audiorecording.

I have Pro Tools 7.1.3, MacBook Pro 2.16 Ghz and Mbox 2 Pro which takes my FireWire 400 slot.

I have previously tested Ice Cube ext.drive and it worked well but now it don't.

Do you have any experience of similiar problem?

Try searching the DUC about this drive.

As far as I know it does not utilize a Digi-supported Firewire chipset and most posts report that it doesn't function well or at all with Pro Tools.

Also, you'd probably get a better response if you posted in an appropriate forum, such as storage subsystems. You are in the Legacy Hardware & Software forum.
