Kontakt 5 preventing PT 10.3.2 from opening

Apparently Kontakt 5 is causing problems again. Completely new system: 27" iMac
3.4 GHz i7
32 gig ram
OSX 10.8.2
PT 10.3.2
11 Rack as I/O with latest drivers
Sampletank 2.5 XL
Komplete 8 with all updates which means Kontakt 5 is completely updated

PT opened fine before installing Komplete 8. Install K8 and when PT goes to ope it does it's usually scan in the splash screen going through the plugs and such and stops when it gets to the Kontakt 5.dpm plug and up pops an error message saying PT has quit and would I care to send a report to Apple. If I take Kontakt 5.dpm out of the folder and put it into the unused plugins folder PT starts up just fine. Put K5 back in and no soap.

Repaired permissions, deleted prefs, etc. using JC's program.

Suggestions anyone? Am I going to have to pop for VE Pro 5 and a Vienna key? That's another $270 or so going to Sweetwater I didn't plan on spending. And I can't even try the VEP demo as it seems to want the Vienna key. Will post over in the NI forums as well but thought I'd post here to see if anyone had ideas/thoughts/suggestions (other than to take up crocheting )

Follow-up:
Went to the NI forums and there's a whole bunch of people with the same problem, both Mac and Windoze platforms. Doesn't seem to matter which. One solution that appears to work is to open K5 BEFORE opening PT and that seems to work but it's a kludge at best.
