PTS 8 "created with a newer version"

other than the odd rtas VI or other misc plug not working I've been having a incredible experience with PTS 8. the playlist options alone were worth the overhaul(although I'm not used to the new UI).

I was working on a session all day and got the ole "couldn't open session because it was created with a newer version of pro tools"

searches on here make it look like its possibly corrupted but import session data won't work. My latest session backup was 10 minutes ago so I only lost 2 passes of vocals(I can live with that for NOW) but is there no other workaround if this happens again? I mean a session just becoming corrupt and unusable is like recording to a hard drive that could format itself at any moment.

Same problem here. I reformatted two cloned drives after this error, recopied from good original, everything was fine, on next day opened session to get this same "created with a newer version" error.

Which version of PT are you using, and which version was the session created in (are they both 8.0, or is one older)? We had an issue like this with 7.2 opening session from 7.4 that required a CS release, but that was long ago.

If it's with 8.0 not being able to open the session, I can take a look at it. Send the session file (only) to pt_transfer (at) digidesign.com. I'll see what's happening with it.

You do know that just because you may have lost the session data, the audio file would still be in the Audio folder, right?
