Default quicktime settings for movie

what are the best quicktime settings for pt to use while playing back quicktimes?

It depends on your hardware setup.
If you have a Firewire convertor you want to use DV movies.
If you have a pci-card or are using a second computer monitor I'd start with 320x240 motion-jpeg at around 1000k/sec.
