Default Best settings for a QuickTime film?

What are the best settings for a QuickTime film/commercial so it loads in the quickest but also looks good on your biz website?

h264 looks great, just be aware that it limits the audience that can watch it to QT7. Which in todays iTunes world is much more current than it used to be.
MPEG4 is more widespread, and just about as good.

Check this web page for details of what versions can play what codecs.

Also you could try a reference movie that selects a different file to play depending on the viewer prefs.
