Default Elastic Time / Melodyne clicks and pops!

So i have this vocal track i recorded recently. I chose monophonic as the algorithm, and even BEFORE i start editing, if i play back the audio, i hear all these clicks and pops. I've tried switching the buffer size from 256 to 1024, to 2048. Nothing works! And if i try to move a note by even just a little bit, it distorts. Sounding very robotic. I notice that this also happens when i transfer the vocals over to Melodyne. Whats going on!

One problem with elastic audio is the analysis markers. What you can do is go through and promote the appropriate analysis markers to warp markers and then delete the rest.

Something that can cause issues with any tuning/stretching algo is background noise also in the track. It helps if you can go through and gate/reduce/edit out the background noise before attempting to elasticize.

Yeah, sometimes EA can wreak havoc with the audio(thank God for the REVERT option~!!). Sometimes its down to how far you move a marker. IOW, small moves sound fine, but a big move can create the garbage sound(what I usually call "gurgling"). I have gotten that crap in sections of audio that didn't get any EA moves. Sometimes you can get a better result by copying a smaller region of audio to another empty track and do the EA mods there. Once its done and still sounds good(hopefully), commit the change and test it again. If it still sounds okay, then you can copy/paste back to the original track. I have not noticed any change between using EA first, or Melodyne first
