Default Several tracks through same compressor ??????

Is it possible to use the same compressor(settings) on e.g. multiple guitar tracks ?

Or does the compressor only "handle" one signal at a time and by routing more channels through it, the compressor doesn't "work" the same as it would do on only one channel.....

I hope that someone knows what I mean......

Sure, by creating a "stem" mix or submix (a stereo fader controlling all tracks of the same instrument).

Create a stereo aux track, label it GTRS or something, and select as its input an available buss (say buss 1-2; BTW, do you know where the input selector is?). Now on your guitar tracks, select as their OUTputs the same buss (buss 1-2), and pan appropriately. Insert a compressor on the stereo aux track. Now each track that outputs to buss 1-2 will go to the stereo aux track and hit the compressor. How hard you hit the compressor is determined by the fader position on the individual guitar track. Making sense?
