Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!
Not much info to go on here Win LE8 and Win7, you need to do a "special dance". Start by downloading the 8.0.5 update and stick it somewhere handy(like the desktop). Then, unplug the interface(if its either 002 or 003, leave it plugged in and power it OFF). Next, run the uninstaller utility that is on the LE installer disk(you need to start with a clean slate). After a reboot, open the installer(Explore the disk) and find the Setup.exe file. Right-click on it and Run as Admin. When the installer asks you to connect the interface, DON'T. Just click on Okay, let it finish and reboot. Now run the updater(again-right-click and Run as Admin). When the updater asks for the interface, DO connect(or power ON for 002/003), wait about 8 seconds for the interface to settle in(002/003), click on Okay, let it finish and reboot. Then open PT and have the authorization code handy. Fingers crossed

Thanks Albee for all your help. After uninstalling, getting all my other programs installed first and then re-installing PT and the update, I think I know the dance by now .. whew!!!! I think I'm good ... but just a couple things:

Had another Q, but just solved it.

My new machine was built around UncleMonkey's setup ... man this thing is going to be smoking.

I'd like to upgrade to PT 10, I'll have to check around on availability since PT11 is already out. I'm just not ready to change a bunch of hardware just to get PT11. My hardware has a volume knob and a headphone jack, that's about all I need and I've already got that without spending more right now. I've got a few programs and plugs I need to update after going to a 64 Bit machine ... I'm ready to reverse my cash flow.

If you'd like to see what a single core processor with 4 gig of Ram can do, check my ReverbNation or Facebook.
