I NEED A G4 FOR 002R

whats the best g4 system for a 002rack? (dual 1.0 system???) i have no clue!!! help
need a good price. whats a known compatible system.
what processor do i need at the lowest .
i want ma desktop. anybody know where i can get one cheap???

any PowerMac G4 will do with a 002 rack as long as you run OSX (Panther preferably.
1GHz is a good place to start, while faster being better of course.

check out the prices on ebay.

Don´t Get an G4/AGP Model (Year 2000) if you want to run Dual CPU upgrades
Get a Gigabit Ethernet model at least.

thats the type of info im looking for.
why the year 2000 model why should i not get it ? what are its downfalls?
what about the superdrive? does it matter? will i be able to use my hp dvd/cd burner in my pc?

my friend said i should be able to get a good system for $600. does that sound legit for a 002r ptle rig??

the only disadvantage of teh G4/AGP models are, bides the only range from 400 to 500MHz speed that you can´t upgrade them with Dual CPU upgrade that´s all.

so I suggest the following (which is only ONE voice, other may suggest otherwise):

- G4 with at 733MHz speed at least (you may upgrade the CPU later)
- OSX Panther
- 1GB RAM
- a second HD for audiofiles Sessions

you don´t need the add. upgrade at once, you can add them later on.

you can use quite any DVD writer with Toast 6.x from Roxio
or get a pioneer for use with the apple software.

The UniNorth chip revision boards support dual processor upgrades, the problem is unless the seller is knowledgable they won't know which board is in the AGP G4 so you won't know what REV it is until you get it.
