Default Addicting drums question

Hey all, i am new to using addicting drums. If you have a bad sounding snare that you recorded live and you want to replace the sound, could you use addicting drums to insert a better sounding snare?

I believe Addicted Drums is a VI(like BFD and ezdrummer). It sounds to me like you want a drum replacement program, so take a look at Drumagog, Steven Slate's Trigger Drum Replacer and TL Drum Rehab. Now if you already have Addictive Drums, it is possible to use those sounds with your drum replacement plugin. The method will vary. I use Drumagog and since I have SD2 and ezdrummer installed, I have created my own batch of drum hits that Drumagog will use(the newest version of Drumagog will access SD2 sounds directly, but I am running an older version so I can't comment on how well it works). There is also a way to create a midi track from the audio, and use that to trigger AD sounds. Lots to consider here, but you will see several ways to do what you want(its all about learning how to do it with the tools you have, or are willing to purchase)

Addictive Drums is not a sample replacement program. If you wanted to use those sounds, you would first need to get a sample replacement program that can export midi, such as Slate Trigger, then let the midi trigger Addictive Drums.

There is also another cheaper product called Toontrack Drumtracker, which analyzes the audio and converts it to midi information.

Massey DRT for generating triggers or MIDI.
