Default Which version of Reaper do I need?

Hi

I'm not abandoning PT at all but I am interested in having a play with Reaper to perhaps host some vsts and rewire into PT but I am not sure which one to go for.

I have a Win 7 (x64) PC and PT8 is working happily as a 32 bit program. For compatibility with PT8 and Win 7 should I download the 64 bit version or the 32 bit version of Reaper?

Thanks
Paul

The great thing about REAPER is you can install both 32 and 64 bit versions and they will both work on your PC! But to rewire into Pro Tools I believe you have to use the 32 bit version.

How do you rewire into PT? Just curious cause I downloaded Reaper yesterday and wanted to see for myself what all the rave was about, but I don't have any inputs devices to use other than my Mbox2.

I've found that the Win7 (x64) version doesn't recognise my Mbox 2 Mini. It thinks it is an Eleven Rack and doesn't work. The 32bit version seems to work although I am struggling to get it to receive MIDI from my Axiom Pro.

To rewire, just create a new Instrument track and choose Reaper as an insert. Reaper will then open up in rewire mode.
