Default Plug-ins/Racks

Hi Guys,

I have a question about building racks. Does it matter if I use the slots 1-5 in rack 1 and then use slots 1-5 in rack 2 instead of just using slots 1-10 in rack 1? Any advantages or disadvantages?

From my and my teams experience, we just put plug-ins in whatever rack makes the most sense visually and allows us the fastest operation and access...

And we've never encountered a problem with that... It might cause them to load in different orders when the console boots, but that shouldn't be an issue.

So I'd say no.

No, on a technical standpoint there is no advantage or disadvantage. It is more of an organizational thing...

If you travel around with the same band, using the local sound systems, it makes sense using your "main" plugins in the upper 5 positions and spread them through the four racks, because when you load your show file on a SC48, those are the only plugins you will be able to use, as the SC48 has only 20 rack slots, as opposed to 100 on the bigger Venues.
To me, it also makes sense using each rack with (almost) the same kind of plugins, but only for easier viewing.
Regards,
MJ
