No Record Volumes Designated - 10.2.4 problem?
Despite the misleading sticker on the box, we all know PT6.0 is only optimized for 10.2.3. Before taking the drastic step of downgrading my OS, I wanted to know if anyone has encountered any of my problems in 10.2.3 or been able to solve them in 10.2.4.
When I try to record enable a track I get an error message saying "No Record Volumes Designated." After clicking OK, the workspace window appears, but when I try to change the audio column for my internal drive to record, I get a message that says "Macintosh HD can not be designated as an Audio Record Volume, because it is not a valid audio volume". Anyone out there come across this problem? Thanks, Matt

Had exact the same trouble on os 10.1.4 on mirror door g4, with Mbox and PT6 when helping my friend install his update. We did not find a solution yet. Any help here?

Lacie 48gb pocket firewire drive, formatted Mac OS extended, VST 80gb firewire drive formatted Mac OS standard. None of these drives allowed for playback or record!! Re: No Record Volumes Designated - 10.2.4 problem?
I have had a few problems of my own but I have not had that one. I was able to record 24 tracks @ 24/48 with my Acomdata firewire drive (7200RPM) and I am usiing 10.2.4 as well. I am not even sure how to go about "downgrading" to 10.2.3 since I just upgraded to OS X. But I don't think that 10.2.4 is a problem. But I may be wrong.
I am on an iMac DV 400 Indigo with 320 megs of RAM. |

Re: No Record Volumes Designated - 10.2.4 problem?
I had this same problem people.....
I agree that it is a bug that needs to be addressed.... I tried a reintsall of everything OSX and PT6 and it worked...but it was my last resort.... but anyways I don't think it's a 10.2.4 problem...because I had problems in 10.2.3 |

Re: No Record Volumes Designated - 10.2.4 problem?
I'm having that exact same problem. I was having a few problems with OS 10.2.4 and decided to just to the drastic measure of downgrading of 10.2.3 and suddenly I now get that exact message! I can't record new projects and my older project files "are on volumes unsuitable for playback. Would you like to copy them to a suitable volume?" I click yes and it then says my HD is not an audio playback volume.
HELP HELP!! Thanks |

I get the same message.
Bug? No. Cripple? Yes. Glad I spent $75 on an upgrade that doesn't work - but then again, I guess I did kinda volunteer to be a guinea pig Powerbook G4 667 MBox PT 6 5400 RPM system drive, 48 Gigs OS 10.2.4 (same result under 10.2.3) -Dave |
