Will my 1-year update code expire if I don't use it?

I have Pro Tools Perpertual,
I've just purchased a 1-year upgrade in the hope there will be good updates in 2024,
but I haven't used the Code yet

I would like to use my activation code when there is a valid update to Pro Tools,
will my code expire? or can I hold onto it for as long as I want?

IIRC, if purchased from Avid, the clock is ticking. If you bought it from an Avid Reseller, then the clock starts when you use it.

Hopefully someone from Avid will chime in.

Avid doesn't sell codes, Avid activates right away.

Hi Electronic1982,

A redemption code purchased from a reseller that is unused doesn't expire, as long as the product is still being offered or not yet discontinued.

But if you buy directly from the Avid Online store, it automatically redeem the product into your account and that will start the entitlement date right away.
