Transferring Protools serial numbers?
Over the years I've had a 001, 002R, MBox, MBox 2 Mini, and MBox 2 Micro. I sold off the 001 years ago, but now I'd like to get rid of the MBoxes (keeping 002R and PT9). I'd like to include a Protools serial number, but I'm not sure if I can. I'm not sure if I legally can, but also I've upgraded PT a number of times over the years, and I haven't keep track of which serial number I've used to upgrade - I'm not sure if that even matters.
Is there anywhere I can look to get this info? Normally I wouldn't be too concerned about it, but I'd like to donate these to a local charity or something, instead of getting a couple bucks for them on eBay. Thanks! |

Re: Transferring Protools serial numbers?
None of those previous upgrades would have required serial numbers from the hardware.
If you do a transfer of ownership with each device, you should be able to just include whatever version of the software originally came with it. Then whoever owns them would use the serial number off each hardware device to get the crossgrade price for PT9. I'm assuming here that you used your 002 serial number for your copy of PT9. |
