A Sync I/O question for you bored audio Guru\'s
I will be moving up to an HD2 soon with 3 96I/O's each of those running an 8xADDA/Pre/Light Pipe I/O. Am I correct in assuming that the 96I/O's do not require to be synced to the SYNC I/O? And if so, am I correct in assuming that the word clock in on the back of my ADDA's need only be taken from each of the 96I/O word clock outs?
OR Should I run the Loop sync from the SYNC I/O through the DIGI interfaces then individual BNC's to the ADDA's? Who's got the quick "skinny"? Eric

Use Loop Synch from the Sync I/O to the Digi interfaces... and feed WC x1 from the Sync I/O and feed it to your other converters.

Re: A Sync I/O question for you bored audio Guru\'s
I guess I'll need a distribution block to feed the WC to the three ADDA's since They only have WC Input and not Output. Any low cost recomendations?

Re: A Sync I/O question for you bored audio Guru\'s
There are two solutions available to you without having to buy a clock distribution device:
1) Feed each external ADDA clock from their respective 96 I/O WC Output. 2) Feed the external boxes from the Sync I/O (Like Rail wrote) and use a single 75 Ohm coaxial cable with BNC "T" connectors at each "stop" of your chain. To make this work, you have to make sure that only the last item in this clocking chain is terminated. If you're not sure about the termination of clock signals, consult the doumentation of your external gear and/or contact the respective manufacturers. I hope this helps.
