Bouncing problem with 6.4
Wasn't there a thread abot this a week or so ago? I haven't been able to find it anymore - what happened?
Anyway, I'm getting an error whenever I bounce in PT 6.4. I can't remember the error at the moment, but it ends with '....-33'. So, I try to go back to the previous version of PT. I install that, but whenever I hit play, it crashes. So, I'm stuck with 6.4 which doesn't bounce. Is there any secret to going back to previous versions? I downloaded and installed the previous upgrade package. Thanks in advance, -Dave |

Re: Bouncing problem with 6.4
I was just about to post the same thing. I was looking for that thread about the bounce to disk problem in 6.4 to see if anyone has come up with a definitive answer, but the thread is gone. Actually, anything older than a week is gone too. You can try what a lot of us have done to actually get a bounce without that error - select your entire mix in the timeline, plus some extra time after the end of all your tracks. I've been going about a minute past the end of the session, and then opening the bounced track in Peak to cut off the silence at the end of the file. I REALLY hope that digi doesn't abandon all the 001 users with this seriously flawed version of PT LE as the absolute last update.

Re: Bouncing problem with 6.4
Hi,
We have been trying to reproduce this in-house and have been unable to do so. Dave can you try something for me, open the session that won't bounce properly and go to File and choose Save Session Copy In. Choose items to copy all audio files, and change the audio file type, if you're using .wav files try AIFF, if you're using SDII files choose .wav. Open the copy of the problem session and see that has the same problem. I'll keep an eye out for your Post. Thanks, Digidesign Tech Support |

Yes, what happened to my old thread?
By the way... no fix yet; I'll try what he said.

Re: Bouncing problem with 6.4
I tried doing the "Save Session In..." and copying my audio files as aiff vs. wav, and I get the same thing. It seems to bounce because I don't get any errors, but I don't get the beachball at the end, and no audio file appears in the directory I was bouncing to.
Here's the history of my problems: 1. Upgraded to 6.4 2. Bounced a session I had down, no problem. 3. Added a few MIDI tracks and audio tracks with synth plugs. 4. Tried to bounce a session and got the error message. So I tried "convert during playback" and it worked. 5. Added a few more MIDI tracks and audio tracks. 6. Could not bounce with either "convert after playback" or "convert during playback" I'm running PT 6.4 on a 1.33 Ghz Powerbook GR with 1.5 gigs of RAM, Digi 002R, Mac OSX 10.3.3 Next I'm gonna try bouncing a less dense track and see if I have the same problem. I'll report on my findings. HELP!!!!!! -Ryan |

Re: Bouncing problem with 6.4
Okay, bounce worked fine with a less dense session.
Here's a brief description of the session I had problems with: Master fader running Waves L2 2 stereo audio tracks, no plugs 1 mono audio track, running compressor and Sansamp 3 instances of Absynth 1 instance of FM7 1 instance of Sampletank with 5 channels (two are muted as I bounced them to audio to try to solve the problem) 9 MIDI tracks 3 audio tracks with bounced MIDI synth Basically 11 audio tracks (8 stereo and 3 mono) and 8 MIDI tracks. I'm gonna see if I can consolidate some things and bounce to disk by freezing synth tracks. I'll report back soon. |

Re: Bouncing problem with 6.4
Okay, bouncing everything down to two tracks and freezing the audio tracks didn't work. Next, I'll try bouncing and deleting everything......

Re: Bouncing problem with 6.4
Deleted everything except the bounced track, just to see if it worked (whew, lucky thing I did and did a Save As). A full 3 and a half minute bounce didn't work, but a 3 second bounce worked.
As far as troubleshooting goes, this is the end of the line for me. Any ideas, Digidesign guys? |
