Anybody knows why
why is it that when I shut off my PC now, it says that "It's safe now to turn off your pC and I have to physically press the power button. Before I used to click on shutoff and it would shuit itself off. Anyone know why that is. I know that I changed from acpi to standard PC and I'm sure this has something to do with it. Please let me know if there's a way to shutt it off automatically. thanks.

Re: Anybody knows why
I had the same problem, but i got help from here. I think it has something to do with acpi, and i think the cure was something like turning ON powersaving features, and set them to never....but i cant really remember....

Re: Anybody knows why
I'm using a Compaq PIV, 1.7ghz 762meg ram, with Win XPpro.. did from acpi to standard PC and I think that's when this started to happen. I will try the power saving thing tonight. Thanks
Any other suggestions

Re: Anybody knows why
i had a computer built from scratch and here is what is has:
1 gig Ram processing speed - 1.8 ghz 120 gig internal HD storage 120 gig external scsi HD storage XP professional pc of course. . . when it was built the acpi was turned off so that nothing was running in the background of the pc. the acpi let's you control certain aspects of the computer via commands. when this is shut off you will have to manually cut on/shut off the computer. if you don't think this will intefer with your protools operation you can turn it back on and everything will work fine. emd2449
