Its a pain in the ass to sell a PT system eh?!

what its worth, how do you transfer ownership of the software and any plugins, finding someone local to take it off your hands...

Any advice out there?

5 minutes on Craigslist to check local market value.

5 minutes on Avid site or DUC to read Xfer of Ownership policy.

5 minutes on iLok.com

Maybe 5 minutes on Waves site if you are an owner.

10 minutes to write an ad for ebay, Craigslist, DUc, and Gearslutz.

You're only 30 minutes away. All the info is VERY accessible.

And then you wait for a nibble. Not really tough at all (except for the waiting for a nibble bit)

Seriously (well, I was only joking a little bit actually), HD2Accel in a DP g5 is ~$2.5k (PCI cards. PCIe changes things) depending on the number and type of drives and how much RAM. It might truly be easier to just send it to me.

Just to help you have accurate info to help sell this rig, but you must have PT 8.0.1 installed on the G5 and not 8.0.3, right?

@para - just because it's not supported or qualified doesn't mean it won't work...but I'm not one to take chances like that.

IIRC, I don't think the 8.0.3 installer will even install on a PPC. I could be wrong though. If I am, I really should have tried higher versions on the G5!
