Re: where is the plugins folder
More recent UAD software releases allow the user to show/hide plug-ins from the Settings page in the Console app.

Re: where is the plugins folder
This problem is trivially answerable by googling, and every link you find will say the same thing... The plugins on macOS are in
/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins. That directory *will* exist and if it does not it will be created by Pro Tools each time it starts and Pro Tools will install the core and system plugins there. This location has not changed since Pro Tools 10 added it for AAX plugins over a decade ago. If Pro Tools cannot create that directory it will scream its pretty head off. (And you sure would not see any plugins in Pro Tools.) Which might maybe happen if there is a highly messed up macOS install. That almost never happens. Common user mistakes are: A. Typing that path as part of a command in a UNIX shell/Terminal without double or single quote the path or escape the space in the path with \ e.g.in Terminal (the $ is the shell command prompt, yours will be different you don't type that part). $ cd /Library/Application\ Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins $ ls * or B. Going to the Library folder under their home directory and not finding Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins. Of course you won't that's an entirely different place. You are after /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins not /Users/<lostuser>/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins (which should not exist but part of the path above it will). -- If you are still stuck type the commands I gave above into Terminal and copy and paste all the output including errors here.
