Default Pro tools 11.3.1 and El capitan 10.11.5

Hello,

Is PT 11.3.1 compatible with El capitan 10.11.5?

Or do I have to change my system??

Thank you in advance

PT11 any version is not compatible with any version of ElCrapitan. You're either going to have to go to PT12 or downgrade your OSX installation if you can.

The question I have is, are Avid working to make PT11 work with El Cap AT ALL? And/or is Apple working for fixes AT ALL - or is PT11 and El Cap just definitely never gonna tie the knot. I *think* I know the answer, but my graying whiskers would like some clarity. Picture the family loaded up with picnic gear standing by their open front door at starlight, still watching the weather man on TV, and the mother saying, "He STILL hasn't said if it's going to rain or not."

Yep, that's me.

Avid has stopped all development and bug fix work on PT11. PT11.3.2 was the last/final update.

That I can't access as a PT11 guy, lol. Ok, well at least I know with certainty the [lack of] logic I'm confronted with and find very odd, but I can go from there. Thankfully I still have choices, even with graying whiskers. Failing getting sucked into the Avid vortex (not out of the question), I still have DP and Logic. And Garage Band!! Thank you.

This Avid mess is why all my new work is being done in DP9.02. Got to love a program that only has one level, does multichannel audio as well as stereo and works quite well with video. Now if MOTU would only kick loose with the promised updates they told us we'd get back at Winter NAMM I'd be in hog heaven.

Almost forgot - if you call MOTU for support you actually get to talk to a person and they don't charge for it

edit for additional: greying whiskers are good - mine have been that way for ages. Some people say I look like Phil Robertson when my beard is winter-length.

I want to compliment apple, 10.11.5 runs great with pro tools 11.3.1

Using Mac mini server 2011, 16 Gg's ram, Digi003 Rack, this is the strongest OS upgrade for My personal pro tools rig since OS X Lion.

The frame rate operating my plugins is completely noticeable, plugins over all are MUCH more responsive and the pro tools GUI as well.

keep in mind I had to install the 003 drivers for Mavericks, listed on digi's site, and it loaded up my digi 003 like a thing of beauty.

I'm not upgrading to PT12, so far in many ways it runs as well as Presonus studio one, keep in mind Presonus has released versions lately that completely crashed my system. let's give AVID credit when something still works, I have a Feeling it was well programmed to survive El Captitan. Please, if your feeling brave, check your plugin compatibility and do a time machine backup 1st.

I forgot how crappy Mac is with incompatibility with software when you upgrade o/s.

I'm currently using PT 11.3.1 with osx 10.11.4.

I had the same issue with importing audio throwing an error, so did some research...who frikkin' knew you had to walk on such pins and needles when applying upgrades...as crappy as Windows is, at least it doesn't crash programs when going up a version or two.

I was able to import audio by DRAGGING the WAV files to a PT track, however, the waveform would not show on the track, so discovered I had to also copy the wav file to the AUDIO folder in my project. Problem solved.

So, considering that I'm currently operating in an environment that does not agree from the compatibility chart:

http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...tibility-Chart

my system runs just fine, in fact, it really hasn't run better on my late 2012 mac mini.

I will NEVER upgrade this system from this point.
