Default Profile and SC48 moving fader issues

I work for a sound reinforcement company that owns a few digi live consoles. One of the consoles was at a baseball diamond, and not surprisingly, got some dirt inside the faders. Upon looking into cleaning the faders, I noticed that there isn't anything to prevent dirt from getting into the faders. I noticed that there was a significant amount of grime on the fader contacts as well as the resistive strip. I understand size limitations and price points, but the faders make me nervous.

Is there any kind of upgrade in the works? Alps does not list any faders that would fit on their website. The next model up has 100 times the life span, but is too big to fit.

Hoping for a better fader future,

Steve
