pro tools won't pan right
I have stereo audio and stereo instruments that won't pan right. They show stereo signals for both sides, but when I pan right, I lose all the sound. I can pan left and hear it find out of both sides of my headphones. I pro tools studio 2023.6.0, soundcraft ui24i, mac pro computer with ventura, Native Instruments plug ins. Any ideas how to get my pan to work?

"I can pan left and hear it find out of both sides of my headphones"
If this is the case, its most likely either a wiring issue or a routing issue and not a problem with Pro Tools. Since troubleshooting doesn't come easily to everyone, try this: 1-Open a session with nothing in it at all 2-add a mono aux track and a stereo master track(turn the aux track fader all the way down) 3-insert the signal generator plugin, set to Pink noise 4-Bring up the aux track fader and watch the master track meters(by default, the mono aux track should be panned center and the master track should show the same level on both left and right) 5-if the above acts as I describe, now move on to actual listening. Note that your headphones must be in a headphone jack and NOT in any other OUTPUT jack on the mixer(none of which are actual stereo outputs).

Re: pro tools won't pan right
Yeah. It’s the cable/adapter that you’re using to plug in your headphones.

Re: pro tools won't pan right
Thanks for the help. You were right, it was not Pro Tools, but it wasn't the headphones. It must be in the Studiocraft somewhere, but still don't know where. Still have the issue.

Re: pro tools won't pan right
Hello there
It's my first time posting, so I hope I've included enough info and am following the forum decorum. I'm running Pro Tools 2023.3.0 on a Dell XPS Core i7, with Win 11 OS My audio interface is a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 After a recent windows update my system completely cacked out on me and after two days of trying to get it running I had to drop it in for emergency surgery. "Windows 11 broke" as the guy in the repair shop put it. I run all my sessions through an external drive and I had a recent back up image of everything, so I wasn't put out when he had to wipe it to repair it. Yesterday, another Windows update and when I went back into my session today, no matter what track, when I pan hard right I have no audio. I have signal. From parity all the way to 100% right hard pan , the audio level decreases to nothing. This has been a recurring theme for me with Windows up dates and Pro Tools. Something always goes pear shaped. I have set everything to default in the I/O setup I've checked all my cables and connections and everything is as it was before. I checked the setting in the 8i6 and all is the same. I swapped it out for a scarlett solo and still the same issue. I have tried the pink noise test, mono aux track with signal generator plugin, outputting to a stereo Master, and still the same problem. I went back through previous sessions and now they all have signal but no audio on a hard right pan. Currently multitasking by smashing my head off the wall, while pulling my hair out. If anyone can help my out I will be eternally grateful Thank you . HB |
