Default how to add secondary drive to macbook ?

how to add secondary drive to macbook ?

as recommended by pro tools user guide,
it is good to add a second hard drive to the
computer to add as a audio slave drive, so
not to stress the primary drive.

what hard drive can I use to add on to a
macbook ?

Any external drive you can connect to it. As a general rule, avoid USB2 drives if you can, choose ThunderBolt if you can, settle for FireWire if your macbook model doesn't have TB.

...and read the specs carefully so you won't be buying 5400rpm or a green drive. SSD's are safer choice if you have no idea about oldskool spinning hard drive specs.

You could replace the cd/dvd drive with a hard drive using an adapter kit. OWC has one, that's easy to do yourself or have a tech do it.
