Not a Valid Audio Volume??
I recently purchased a Powerbook G4, 1.67ghz processor, 1gig RAM (soon to be 2), and I made sure that it had a 7200 RPM drive in it so I could use it for doing mobile recording of smaller projects. It does not allow me to start a new session, and when I try to change it to an audio record volume in the Workspace, it gives me the error : "Macintosh HD" cannot be designated as an Audio Record volume because it is not a valid audio volume. I have a couple external firewire drives I could use, but I wanted to be able to use this internal one as well for smaller projects. How do I make it an audio record volume??

Re: Not a Valid Audio Volume??
Dropdown menu named window->workspace. Make sure the letter in the A(udio) column is set to R for record. You should use an external drive. I hope this helps, although I am sure this question has been answered many times before and could have been found with a little searching.

Um, yeah...I already said I tried that in my original post & it won't let me. That's when it gives me the error message...

Re: Not a Valid Audio Volume??
Thanks for pointing me to the right thread, the version of PT7 on my Powerbook came from a Firewire transfer from my PowerMac G5. I Uninstalled PT7, repaired permissions, re-installed it, repaired permissions again, and it defaulted to a record drive. Thanks again!

It's the 5th one from the top right now. It might even be the 6th by the time you read this. |

Yup, since the "7.1.1 for Intel Macs" thread appeared a few days ago, it's now the 5th from the top....
