Re: A7V266-E
I just built a new machine based on this motherboard on Saturday morning. No problems at all.
Let's figure out what you're doing (more info) and we can probably come to a solution pretty quickly. What OS? What other cards are in the system? What state is the system in when you try to install the 001? Has it come up and run Windows yet? Take care, Mark |

Re: A7V266-E
I am running Windows 98se, and Windows is running. I have a Diamond Stealth 3d 2000 PCI Video card in slot 1. I am running an AMD 1700XP w/256MB PC2100 DDR. The Digi card is in slot 4. Enabled DMA on IDE Drive (40GB Maxtor UDMA133).
Is there another slot I should be using for the Digi? |

Re: A7V266-E
Hi,
OK, we need to get our numbering straight. Usually when people talk about the slot numbering, they don't include the AGP slot that the graphics controller is in. Therefore on this machine, the slot numbering would be: AGP PCI1 PCI2 PCI3 PCI4 PCI5 Now, the 'best' slot is PCI3. You might mean this if your numbering started by calling the AGP slot #1. So, which slot is the 001 in? PCI3 or PCI4? Next, are there any other cards? Ethernet? Modem? Have you disabled onboard audio? Has the machine booted WITHOUT the 001 in it? Was it stable? How long did you use it? Don't worry. We'll get to the bottom of this quickly. I'm on the same MB with an XP 1600+. Take care, Mark <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>Originally posted by Red Fox: I am running Windows 98se, and Windows is running. Re: A7V266-E
Hi,
I wish I had brainwaves....they've been gone all day. For Asus MB's, enter BIOS, go to the Advanced page, then down to PCI Configuration. Once in that page you'll see entries for Slot 1/5, Slot 2, etc. They'll say Auto, but you can assign them yourself. Put your 001 in Slot 3, and set the IRQ to 9. Cheers, Mark |

Re: A7V266-E
Thanks Mark! Hopefully forcing the 001 into it's own IRQ will solve some of my problems.

A7V266-E
I am currently trying to install the Digi in an A7V266-E Board, and every time I get to the driver install, i get a blue screen with a fatal exception naming the driver file. What can I do?

Re: A7V266-E
Ok,
For some clarification, The video card is PCI. it is in slot 1. The Digi card was in slot 4. Now it is in slot 3 and IRQ set to 9. However when trying to install the driver, the system hard locks. I was able to use the system fine before trying the Digi001. Windows was running and stable. (Although it wasn't running too long before trying to install the Digi as it is a new mobo, cpu, etc.) Can you guys help me? Digi has been fairly non-cooperative in helping me with anything. Thanks! |

Re: A7V266-E
Hi Red Fox,
Boy, this is a sort of ugly problem you're having. OK, so it's an older video card, if it's PCI. I guess that's no problem. What applications are running when you do the install? If you ALT-CTL-DEL and look at the task manager window, what do you see? If you go into device Manager, are all the othe bits of hardware installed and working? No red X's or yellow question marks? What applications have you installed on the machine prior to starting the 001 installation? I'm thinking that some applciation is causing trouble for PTLE. I had some trouble with MS Office for a while. One difference between you and I is that the very first thing I installed was PTLE on a very clean machine. Sounds like maybe you've been using the machine for a little while? Take care, Mark |

Re: A7V266-E
Hello. I have a five page list of settings and tweeks that just about every one should do to their system that I was e-mailed from Sweetwater Music. I know that once I did all of these steps it lined out my system real nice. It may not be exactly what you need now, but it will sure come in handy when ever you need it. If you would like I can e-mail it to you. Just let me know and give me your address, Carl
