Default Eleven rack with Apogee hardware?

Hi Guys,
I use the Apogee Ensemble now,..I am in need of having to work in PT soon.

So,. I was wondering since I play gtr if I got the Eleven rack,...
I could take my time in learning PT, but 2 questions.

1, would I be able to use the Ensemble in addition to Eleven rack when I use PT?

2, would I be able to use the amp models etc in Eleven Rack along with the Ensemble when I need to use Logic?

IOW,
can I get the best of the 2,..use Eleven and Ensemble all the time?
regardless of DAW.

thanks guys

There are several ways you can use these 2 together, but you can not use them in either program to expand the number of inputs/outputs you're able to have. In Protools, you would have to use the Eleven Rack as your interface. The Ensemble would allow you to use the preamps and DI's in various configurations, as well as the monitoring section, via the digital spidf inputs/outputs. Your main benefit here would be bypassing the Eleven Rack's digital converters, as the Ensemble would be noticeably better.

In using Logic, you could still use the Eleven Rack as the interface and the Ensemble hooked up to it the same way. Or, vice versa, you would use the Ensemble as the interface (especially if you need more I/O), and hook up the Eleven Rack in a few different ways to make use of the great guitar and effect sounds in it.

It's easy to do either way. When using the Eleven rack as the interface, you would set it to be clocked via spidf (you set this in the protools software).

When using the Ensemble as the interface, you would set the Eleven Rack to be clocked the same way, only using the hardware controls and menus of the Eleven Rack itself.

The amp sims do sound very good. Keep in mind that there's also the Eleven LE plugin. But if you want to use Logic that won't work, so the Eleven Rack is the best bet for that. You'd basically be using it as a hardware effects processor.

yes,..it looks like it would make life easier than dealing with amps, mics and volume....IF it sounds great,...No shops have one setup where I can go play though so it's a guess.

thx man.

best-
