It's referred to in an error message you get when Pro Tools can't handle a bounce to disk.

Hey Bruce,
We miss you on DAW-MAC! So tell me, why is there a feature called "convert during bounce" when even my dual 500 G4 can't handle it. Is it designed for some future machine?

I use convert during bounce with my G-4 400 with no problem. I do put PowR dither on the master fader. Don't know if that makes a difference.

From what I have learned, certain plug in windows "open" at the time of the bounce, causes this 'bounce handler' problem. Particularly waves PAZ. Digi is addressing this.
A point of interest.....I successfully bounced a 78 min. session (24b-48k +24trks)....while converting during bounce to 16b-44.1k....from a FIREWIRE COBRA + drive!! (bouncing to the Firewire) I tried the same setup from 2 SCSI 10k rpm on a dual port ATTO.....The system would not even allow a bounce of any kind to any volume period! I had to bus to a stereo audio track!! This is on a G4 533 Mix ++ system!! HMMMM...... Rob
