Default Virus in NI update?

Hi all

Just ran the Native Instrument SW manager. Komplete Kontrol was due for update. McAfee spotted virus in the exe updater file and quarantened it.

NI SW manager reported that the update completed. Green color as normal.

Now scanning PC.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Real Protect triggered on a false positive.

I've been building/setting up PCs for over 35 years and have used all the antivirus programs available like AVG, Norton, McAfee and others. For the last few years I've used Windows Defender or Security Essentials depending on the OS and have had no issues whatsoever.

I just installed Komplete 13 and other than the "Update Freeze/Safe Mode" bug in Native Access I had no other problems. To fix that you start Windows in Safe Mode with Networking, run Native Access, log in then close the app, reboot into normal Windows and then Native Access behaves itself.
