Default GUID Partition vs Apple Partition

Encountering 9060 errors on trying to run sessions from a 1TB OWC quad-interface drive. Knowledge Base points to an improper formatting scheme using the GUID Partition Table rather than the Apple Partition Map, which is required by PPC machines. There does not appear to be any means of formatting with Apple Partition Map, rather than GUID Partition Table, when using Apple Disk Utility. Any other formatting utilities to consider, or is this GUID topology baked into the OWC drive's connectivity? I'm using a FW800 connection.

Many thanks,

John Caldwell

In Disk Utility select the partition Tab. Underneath the volumes you will see an Options Tab. Click on that and you will be able to select between GUID & Apple Partition Map.

From memory, if you have multiple partitions on the drive, you may not be able to select the Options tab. IU think this requires a reformat into one partition as I don't believe your physical HD can have more than one partition type for each volume.

Excellent, Sardi. It was just as you said, that the Options within the Partition tab permit selection of GUID vs. APM.

Many thanks for your advice.
