Default Recommend a noise gate. . . or something

I need to remove some street noise from a video, there is also engine sound coming from the car that was used to shoot a neighborhood as driving through it.
Also there is one scene where there is A/C noise that needs to go.
How would you go about doing that? A good noise gate?
If so could you recommend one?

Thanks.

GtrDude.

A gate is going to eliminate ALL audio when it is closed, and pass ALL audio when ti si open. that's how they work. You'll need to get creative with eq.

Actually, a noise gate doesn't necessarily eliminate all audio. There is on most gates I think a range parameter. In the digirack gate the default range is set to -80 dB, but you can change it so when there is only noise on one track (not with a useful sound you need), it's lowered but not supressed, and by applying eq, you can make your soundtrack cleaner.

true, but that reduction is to all the audio.
