Default Reason Adapted and midi control-noob

First off id like to say thanks for a great forum that has been a big help to me. Ok heres my problem, im a guitarist who has never worked with midi before. i have pro tools LE/ mbox bundle with reason adapted and sample tank...i have an old keyboard that i would like to use to play the synth modules in reason...and sample tank..since the m-box has no midi inputs...what is the best way to get this midi controler keyboard to work with all of this stuff...i was thinking of buying a midi to usb adapter...would this be the way to go or is there something im missing...i dont want to spend a bunch of jack on a midi interface if i dont have to...like i said ive never worked with midi...i just want to trigger the synths and stuff with my little keyboard controller

Thanks
Chris

Yes, getting a simple USB MIDI interface would be the way to go.

It depends on how intricit you want to get, I am a guitar player also, and I am still really midi stupid but I am learnig. The guys at guitar center sold me a Xboard25 midi controller. 25 meaning 25 keys. It is small so it doesn't take up alot of space. I think it was like 125 bucks, and it is a really nice unit, perfect for the person that is not really a keyboard player, and it has all the stuff that the bigger ones have. Remember it is only a controller, meaning it has no sound, it just controls midi, like sampletank, or bfd..and it is usb connect. It is really a quality peice of equipment in my opinion.
