Video engine cannot stop

Working on audio edits against a video. After hitting stop, the video won't stop until after several attempts. Message "Video Engine Could Not Stop" pops up.

Had restarted ProTools, restarted the PC, converted the video to ProRes, disable & enable Video Engine, Buffer Size 1024 etc... all the above do not improve my situation.

Another problem is when dragging / nudging clips (especially many clips), there will be a lag / delay (at least 3 seconds) for the clips to move to the new position.

My guess of the cause is: Opening ProTools ver 2020 project on ProTools 12.5.
