Question HELP! Pro Tools 10 installation

Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

There seems to be a problem with my Pro Tools 10.

First I purchased Pro Tools 8 LE (installation disks) then I upgraded/cross graded (I don't know what the difference is) to Pro Tools 9 (installation disks) and now I just recently upgraded/cross graded to Pro Tools 10 (purchased the license). Now I am running this on an iMac 2007.
When I launch my Pro Tools I am welcomed by an error message that says that is it unable to receive updates. Any takes on this?
Also, I received a macbook pro 2012 Lion as a gift. How would I go about installing Pro Tools 10 on this laptop.
I ask because I remember that AVID said not to run Pro Tools on and Lion operating systems. Any takes on this as well?

Thank you everyone!

Did you uninstall the previous version of ProTools before loading 10?
If not, you should.

No trick to loading PT10 on your Macbook.
The latest version of PT (10.3.3) is good for OSX 10.6.7-10.8.2, so Lion is fine.
Download it here:

ejwells,

Thank you.

Now, would I need to install Pro tools 8LE on my macbook first and then install my Pro Tools 9 upgrade and then the 10?
Or would I just need to install Pro Tools 10?

No. No previous version needed for PT10. It's a full install
