Default Noise on top of Audio PT10 and Asus Z68 V Pro M-board

I've had this config for quite a while and been running W7 Ultimate and PT 8.05 without hassle, solid and smooth. I bout a Mbox Mini 3g with PT9 and free update to 10. For some reason I was dumb enough to not uninstall PT8 (which I did afterwards). When doing playback in PT 10 I have digital noise on top of the audio, and it alters when I change the DAE settings and play around with number of processors, audio buffer (preferably 0) and latency. Everyonce in a while I can the record and audio playback to operate normally but eventually it all goes FUBAR.

Do any of you have experince of this or know anything about it. I know the onboard graphics could be an issue, and next step might be to buy a cheap Nvidia graphics card. I've updated pretty much everything, uninstalled and reinstalled Pro Tools and Mbox drivers. When using the Mbox with Reaper for instance everything runs great so it's a PT thing, and I know how picky PT is when it comes to hardware.

Without hearing a sample of the sound it's difficult to guess what it might be.
Also, need a Sandra system report to know what the hardware is.

If it is a buzz it could be your are picking up noise from your system or monitor through a bad or missing ground, or defective cable.
Might even be you audio cable routing.

Everything but Pro Tools works as a charm, that's why I hold it against Pro Tools. I can record and play as usual with, for instance, Reaper. Same with Ampeg SVX in standalone mode. But I'll get back with a Sandra report.

By the way... It's just on playback. Bounced audio is ok.

Maybe you could post a link to the sound.
Would help tell if it is PT glitching or possibly a routing issue.
Could even be the clock slipping.

Do you have any IK Multimedia plugins? Those shoot white noise every few seconds when they are in demo mode

I do have the SVX installed. I will obviously try to uninstall but the noise comes even though I have no active plugins and only one track rec enabled or playing back audio.

Hmmm....Do you have drive images saved anywhere? I think I would try to roll back to the old LE8 setup and run the uninstaller so you can start fresh. You can go directly to 10 as its a complete installer, but a fresh start may be the best solution, even if it means reloading Windows. I never do any update or software install without first saving a drive image(Acronis True Image gets a lot of work here).
