I' ve been having a helluva time trying to find out if the firewire 800 external drives I'm shopping for have the oxford 912 or oxford 924 chipset that the proaxess line recommended. Most drives I've looked at do not specify their internal chipsets and googling the drives hasn't helped much. Im still waiting for a response to my email to western digital regarding their drive's chipsets.

after much failure with an external usb drive, I'm converting to the firewire drive. Any help with specific drives with these chipsets would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lap
