Hi,

Don't think it will work! The mac would need to see 2 bespoke interfaces to make an aggregate device. The driver would not see 2 separate interfaces!

You might be able to do it with aggregate audio on a Mac. The regular Mbox 3 works, maybe the Pro does too.

But it would be easier to just get one interface that has all the I/O you need.

im with crizdee. The mbox pro aggregates with other devices. unfortunately the Control Panel/Driver was designed for only one Mbox Pro at a time. So I think you could only use two Mboxes if one is in standalone mode. that would only give you two extra inputs and outputs at a time

I don't know that the control panel has any bearing on this. When I successfully aggregated a regular Mbox 3 and Duet 2, it was all done in the mac audio midi setup.

@Flautista, the Mbox Pro can be set up in a standalone A/D and D/A mode, letting you use 2 channels out of Spidf into the Spidf input of another device (like another Mbox Pro). This is what they're referring to. That would at least give you 2 more channels of the exact same preamps and conversion.

I can imagine the two Mboxes aggregating just fine. but when it would come time to set up your mix, how would the control panel control BOTH boxes? Thats the problem I see with the setup. But it would be cool if someone tried this out and let us know what happens!!
