Default editing tools off by 1 sample

some of the editing tools in protools hd 8.0.3 cs1 are off by one sample

i can make a selection in grid mode and hit command T, and if i zoom in one edge of my edit will be 1 sample shorter than my selection

what is up with this? it is causing me serious headaches and making cross fading a pain in the ass!
