*** correction to last, it cost me $60 shipping from US to Australia... just got 3 quotes to send it back to the US... cheapest is $240... I am FURIOUS AVID!!!!!!!

Getting back to the problem that OP had.
Is there any solution to the problem where protools asks you to connect your digidesign hardware? (see picture)

I have an Mbox 3 pro, it is connected, and playing sound trough itunes etc. with no problems at all.
I've tried to work out this problem for more than a week now, and i'm so close from just throwing my mbox in the trash.
It's really frustrating that the mbox pro controlpanel tells me that the hardware is connected, but pro tools can't open with the error that i need to connect the hardware.
Please, if anybody have a solution, you would save my day

I'm on an Danish version of Windows XP, using Pro Tools LE 8.0.4 with Mbox_Pro_Drivers_v1011_69345 installed.

So is mine. I am dumping this POS for an Apogee Duet 2. 10x better in EVERY way, especially sound quality and compatibility. I am done with Avid/Digidesign for LIFE.

Are all mbox pro units affected of all this problems posted here? Or this are some individually cases?

I bought one this month and it installed and is working fine. It sounds like there may have been some issues when this unit first started shipping last year-
