Anyone have problems with gain on the projectmix?
Perhaps I'm just pushing some gain hungry mics, but it's hard to capture a good signal out of an acoustic guitar unless the mic is right on it and this is with the gain axed out. MAybe, I need to buy some different mics instead of my RE20 and SM7. Does anyone else have complaints with the gain levels? I have been trying to push my levels as close to the 0 without clipping. but they only get about half way with my guitar.

Re: Anyone have problems with gain on the projectmix?
You're right, those are two gain-challenged mics. The SM7 a little more so than the RE20. For voice, you almost have to eat them to get good level, but they sound great. For acoustic GTR, you would be better off with a condenser of any kind, but a small diaphram condenser would be best. Absent that, just mic it close like you have been doing. Good luck!

Re: Anyone have problems with gain on the projectmix?
My problem would be the opposite. I wish there was a pad on the PRojectmix. Recording high signals like drums just maxes out my pre's even when they are totally turned down. looking into the Presonus Digimax LT. Lightpipe out with a pad on every channel.
