Wave & ASIO 6.1.1

I was under the impression that 6.x allowed the installation of both Wav & ASIO drivers.

Found this warning in the "Upgrading to Pro Tools 6.1" booklet:
"Do not install the ASIO driver if using the Digidesign Wavedriver".

So what's your personal experience? Can you have both installed on the same system?

Also, I'm upgrading to 6.4 from 5.3.1.
I have a brand new 6.1.1 disk and have downloaded 6.4.
I currently have 5.3.1 and the 5.3.x Wavedriver installed.
I have read here that installing 6x over 5.3 works fine, but what about the 5.3 wavedriver?
should I uninstall it first?

Wavedriver and ASIO driver work properly together since 6.1. In 5.x.x they could not coexist.

I saw that in the upgrade to 6.1 book..That is odd because they work well together and there is even an install protocol published on the download site

As Cliffy says they do work together, although you will lose your ability to record using the Wavedriver.

Its an error in the book. The web site had it correct.

And mon frère Bazzle, it seems you are the chosen one who did not lose Wave Record when updating to 6.1.1. ( But they got it back from you in 6.4, did they? )
