7.4 stops playback momentarily when highlighting an area

Hello All,
Just bought MP 7.4 yesterday. I had a quick look at the elastic audio and stretching some files-sounds great! Looking forward to doing many of the things I do in Ableton Live in Pro Tools now.

OK here is my problem. When marking an area within a region during playback using either the up and down cursor arrows, tab key (or shift tab), or just clicking and dragging with the divider tool the playback stops momentarily. This happens every time using a solitary stereo track in playback (Elastic Audio disabled for the track).

Am I missing something here or has something changed with 7.4?

I have not tried exhaustive troubleshooting, only the general prefs trashing and Repair Disk Permissions as I am wondering if there is something about 7.4? I am using my MacBook 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 1 Gb RAM and 10.4.10. I am afraid have the stereo track playing back from the system drive which I guess is unsupported. That said it was fine in 7.1 and I have no plugins or other hungry apps running.

Anyone have the solution?

Mine did the same thing, turning off Dynamic Transport fixed the issue.
