Lot's of friends of mine hope that they fix the Bounce Movie that crashes all the time. I have not have too many, but when it does happen, it's a buzz kill for workflow. I just logout and log back in to avoid having to restart to fix it.

I don't know anything about this beta nor how to get it but I hope they've fixed the inability to import AAC audio from movies. I keep having to switch back to Rosetta in order to get audio into my sessions which, when you're working with several different video files each day can be time consuming. I've been staying in Silicon mode as much as possible, so a fix in 2023.6 is necessary.

I know it's a workaround, but have you considered using Shutter Encoder to rip the AAC audio from the movie to WAV and importing separately? That's gotta be faster than switching back and froth between Rosetta and AS Native.

I did think of using a 3rd party app to separate the audio but didn't get far with any specific one. I'll give Shutter a look. Thanks!

Simpler unless you really need HQ audio. You can just open the movie in QT and export audio only and bring it in that way. That's if you only need a ref track.

My regular workflow is to take the MP4s I get from editors and stick them in Shutter Edit to convert to DNxHD (with WAV audio) to work to natively (or more specifically, in VideoSync if it's more than a mix) anyway. It's a great converter, and is the best way for me to make an AAC and lay it back to the original client-provided mp4.

Sure it's great, but I you want to put another one out there that I use all the time

Funny, I didn't see that Audio Only option in QT's Export window until just now.

Does this downgrade audio quality upon export? I would have thought that it remains the same as the source but perhaps not.

In any case, yes, this is a quick and simple fix when I'm only trying to get a single stereo file pulled from the video file.
