Fallen, can't get up

Hey all,

Was having some trouble with PT LE, so I re-installed.

Everything's fine with PT now, but my MP3 player won't work (Sound Jam MP), and I keep getting "Error -200" when I try to hear Quicktime movies (the visual is there, but no sound).

Any thoughts? I'm missing the jukebox!

Without knowning anything else about your system, I am guessing an extension conflict is causing you problems:

-Open the Extensions Manager Control Panel. From the selected set pop-up menu, select “OS 8/9.x base” click on “Duplicate Set" at the bottom of the window. Name the set whatever you like. Enable the following extensions and restart the computer:
-DigiSystem INIT
-Digidesign Direct I/O (required with DSI 5.0.1 and later)
-Digidesign DSP Manager
-Digidesign Stream Manager (only if using DirectConnect)
-Open Music System
-USB Floppy Enabler (only for B&W G3 and G4's)

Thanks for responding, Brent.

I re-installed the system software (in-place), and got the MP3 player working...however, now I'm not able to get my MP3s to play through the 001 (which I think is a common problem that's been covered here elsewhere...it's like I was 'getting away with it before', and now I'm in the same boat others are).

I'll look at those other patches....but if you have a quick response (re: playing MP3s [using, say, SoundJam], through the 001, please fill me in).

You probably already know this but just in case . . . .

Is "Digidesign" selected (not "built in") in the sound out window of the sound control panel? If it's not there you hae to enable the extension.

I checked my extension set and I have Digidesign Output drivers, Digisystem Init, Digidesign DSP Manager and Digidesign I/O enabled, but not the extension that says simply "Digidesign".

Running 8.6 on B&W G3. Soundjam works fine through Digi.

I tried to select "Digidesign," but no go...I didn't know about the extension situation, though...I'll give it a shot when I get home.
