Default Flashing BIOS of ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe - How To?

I will be upgrading my computer to something new in the near future for HD, but want to put my P4C800 to some good use, and may try to dig up a faster processor. However, its BIOS is at 1009 level, and they are at 1024 level.

Going to ASUS' website got me two procedures to follow, but one was confusing. It was their EZ-Flash method. They tell you to download a BIOS file. I did that, but the name is P4C800-E-ASUS-Deluxe-1024.001, and their instructions say it should be a dot.ROM file.

They go further to say that you should change the name of the file to a dot.ROM, but that the file name would be the board model name. Well, that leaves you the choise of: P4C800-E-ASUS-Deluxe.ROM, or maybe P4C800-E-ASUS-Deluxe-1024.ROM. Our friends at ASUS have discontinued live Tech Support, in fact, I canno find any email support either. Two years ago, they were marvelous.

I have read many sad stories on Google about flashing the BIOS on this board. Also, many of the respondents at the blogs and chat sites mention the need to use one or the other of the methods for certain levels of BIOS. There won't be any recourse with Tech Support at ASUS. It is history. So, I must do it right the first time. Anybody done it?

Scratch this posting. I was a letter off. It's a P4P, and that means that the BIOS in it is the latest. Sorry, to bother.
