Default Newb shortcut question

I use the CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER shortcut to highlight regions to the end of a track a lot, and was looking for a combo to do the reverse - highlight from the cursor to the beginning of the track. Failing to find this in the shortcuts guide, I discovered that the Mark Edit Start (down arrow) does this whether in Keyboard Focus mode or not. Cool, so the up arrow would surely do the reverse, giving you a single key to highlight to the end, right? No such luck - instead it seems to do the same as the Enter key, returning the cursor to the start of the project. Is there some logic to this I'm missing, or is it just one of those things you get to know?

I believe your looking for Shift + Start + Enter (Extend Selection to Song Start) or Ctrl + Shift + Tab (Extend selection to previous region boundary)

There are a few more very helpful options available also. Check out page 6 of the WIndows keyboard shortcuts for Pro Tools.
